Starring: Annabeth Gish, Julia Roberts, Lili Taylor
Opening Date: October 21, 1988
The beginning was a little confusing for me, because it started off with a wedding who was Jojo's (Lili) sister, but looked exactly like Jojo. So it's her sister...
Two sisters and a friend (Annabeth, Julia and Lili) all work at a pizza shop, each having their own problem. Kat (Annabeth) is a smart, driven, bright girl who has a bright future and going to Yale. The problem seems that no guy is interested in her and she seems to feel jealous of her sister, Daisy (Julia), because Daisy can get any guy she wants. Daisy knows she will never amount to Kat and wants her mom to know it. Jojo has a boyfriend who is adamant about marrying her, and even breaks up with her because of it.
Kat ends up falling for the guy she babysits for to only find out it was a fling, and after love making, that it seemed like it didn't mean anything. But it meant so much to Kat, but she found that she had to move on. Daisy also falls for someone who's rich, and got kicked out of school. She finds out that he uses her toward his own family because she's lower class than them. Watching the movie, I didn't really figure out why he would do that, and didn't really understand the explanation.
What I didn't agree on was the mother being so harsh on Daisy because she wasn't going to school, she didn't see who Daisy really was, only what she wanted her to be. I think she could've encouraged her but not change her into her sister, who Daisy was not.
The movie is a very coming of age movie, and a chick flick or to just watch with a group of friends. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and Julia Roberts is gorgeous in the film. All three of the girls played the characters very well.

Drag Me to Hell
Starring: Alison Lohman, Justin Long, Lorna Raver, and Dileep Rao.
Opening date: May 29, 2009
When there becomes a competition between Christine(Alison) and another employee for a spot as the assistant manager, a women comes in who changes Christine's fate. The old women Mrs. Ganush comes in asking for another extention on her house, Christine has to choose between yes and no. Yes means that Christine isn't adamant and not serious about her work, no means that she is serious about her work and is serious that she wants the position. Christine tells Mrs. Ganush no, even though you find out she could've extended it, but she had to show her boss who she really was.
When Mrs. Ganush puts a curse on Christine, Christine starts getting haunted by a creature. You can't ever see him, but you can see his shadow and that he is there. He puts Christine through hell by slapping her, and throwing her across the room. He follows her where ever she goes, including work. The presence is always around. When Christine tries to make ends meet and say sorry to the poor women, she finds out that she's dead.
Christine goes to a Forture Teller to try and help her, he gives her a book to tell her how to get rid of the curse but it doesn't work. They even get together with a medium, but they just find out that although the spirit is gone, the curse is not over.
By the end Christine tries to get the curse off by putting it back on Mrs. Ganush, but somehow the button that the old women cursed Christine on finds its way back to her boyfriend and back to her.
The movie had an intersting twist, but it was easy to figure out what was going to happen. It had a lot of jumps, and if you have teenagers in your theatre, you'll hear a lot of the screams. Some parts were gross, because of bugs and other things, which most people arn't okay watching. If you're into horror, you'll most likely have mixed feelings about this movie... I did. I loved it, but all the same it was kind of silly/funny at some parts. Overall, I'd recommend this movie, but not to small children. If you're a fan of Alison, like me, you'll love her in this, she did an amazing job. Ellen Page was suppose to play Christine, but I couldn't see it after watching Alison.
